Former Eng Aun Tong, 89 Neil Road

Former Eng Aun Tong was actually the factory of the famous ointment brand Tiger Balm. It was built in 1926 by the owner of Tiger Balm, Aw Boon Haw. Mr Aw had wanted the top of the building to resemble the cap of the Tiger Balm bottle but the architect persuaded otherwise.

Presently, the building stands mostly vacant. On a side note, Mr Aw and his brother Mr Aw Boon Par had also set up Haw Par Villa.
